Auckland Downtown Ferry Terminal
Piling and installation of a new walkway bridge and new fender system
The removal of existing steel piles and their supporting timber whaling, the installation of six concrete reinforced steel piles (40mm position tolerance), installation of bridge sections and decking, and the construction of a new fender and whaler system. This site is the hub of Auckland's ferry network and required that works be carried out at night so as to minimise disruption to ferry users. Additionally the piles were required to be imbedded and grouted to a depth of six metres in rock, requiring custom drilling and jetting equipment to be utilised.
Gulf Harbour Marina
Piling and installation of floating pontoon, abutment and gangway
Quayside Marine was contracted to pile and install a floating pontoon, abutment and gangway was part of the new Gulf Habrour Ferry Terminal.
Quayside Marine also carries out annual remedial maintenance piling at the site.
Half Moon Bay
Dredging and piling of two new layover berths for vehicular ferries
Quayside Marine was contracted to dredge 2,500m³ of sandstone from the adjacent beach. The dredged rock was transported from site, across the beach and disposed of in a landfill.
On completion of the dredging six steel reinforced and concrete filled 509mm diameter piles were drilled into the sandstone to a depth of -9 metres to act as a fender system between the vessels.
Re-development of the Vehicular Terminal
Quayside Marine won the contract to complete a full re-development of the existing vehicular terminal.
The scope of the work included demolition of the existing wharf and removal of several steel concrete reinforced piles.
Installation of new 509mm steel reinforced and concrete filled piles were drilled and driven into the sea bed with a new epoxy / 2pac zinc sprayed steel substructure fitted to the ten structural piles.
A new timber deck was fitted and linking gangways installed, with the final stage being the installation of new hardwood timber fender piles and a cushioning system.
Havelock Marina, Picton
The construction and installation of a new marina extension
Quayside Marine was contracted in a subcontractor capacity to install and pile some 250 metres of concrete floating pontoons in Havelock Marina. The job involved the driving of concrete piles of varying diametres and the installation of their associated floating pontoons.
North Cove, Kawau Island

Milford Marina
Quayside Marine were contracted to dredge (7000m³) the marina of silt deposits and carry out remedial timber repairs to the marina's considerable amount of fixed jetties, as well as carry out maintenance piling.
Considerations were that the marina was still fully operating, requiring detailed planning safety policy implications so as to safe guard the large numbers of the public frequenting the marina and its public boat ramps.
Orakei Wharf
Quayside Marine won the tender to construct and build an integrated wharf, set of tidal stairs and fender piles.
Considerations had to be given to the large amount of wave height and fetch experienced at the site.
